It’s one of the city’s most important historic sites, frequented both by history, culture and art lovers. It is the largest and oldest building in the eastern part of the Old Town. The castle had originally been erected as a fortress, but from the end of the 16th century onwards, it was gradually transformed into a nobleman’s residence. The museum houses a rich collection of artefacts related to the history of the region. Moreover, numerous exhibitions, concerts and educational activities are regularly held on its premises.
